DESCRIPTION:This conversation/plática will work to hit re-boot to the social conditions of the day as we face a new reality of post-COVID, post-affirmative action, and perceived post-race. Though there has recently been an erosion of rights and liberties we have earned over the last fifty years, the commitment to developing people, systems, and goodwill should still prevail. This plática is grounded in assets-based development and will highlight the values, tools, processes, and politics for transforming communities from within. Though the nuts and bolts are necessary, a deeper dive into the development of the conditions that explore the Alchemy that builds these tools is critical. This presentation employs a dynamic-critical pedagogy to disrupt the status quo and mobilize a sustainable method, pedagogy, inquiry, and change process. At the core, this work is informed by trust, respect, growth, and development. This plática is an invitation to dream together and explore a collaborative process for building a new social DNA for community building and engagement that puts people before profits.\n
