SUMMARY:Fall Learning Summit
DESCRIPTION:Join us for our Fall Summit in Denver, Colorado (October 24th-26th) titled CommUnity in Action: Enhancing Education Together \nAt BranchED, we believe transforming education happens within an educational ecosystem in which there is strong connection and collaboration between and among stakeholders to ensure all children have the support they need to thrive. This ecosystem encompasses a wide range of stakeholders with unique and complementary roles that converge and diverge to benefit all children by preparing them to flourish in our heterogenous society. Research has shown that family and community involvement have positive impacts on a child’s development and academic success. Engaging teacher candidates in purposeful community-based activities can increase engagement, problem solving and critical thinking skills, and further their understanding of complex issues. Such experiences provide teacher candidates an opportunity to move beyond the university or PK-12 classroom and make connections between theory and practice through application of knowledge gained through their coursework. Join us for our Fall Summit in which we will explore the power of communities and the impact that partnership can have on teacher quality and children’s success.\nThe purpose of this Summit is to explore opportunities, influences, and strategies that will allow EPPs, PK-12, community partners, and key stakeholders to create or enhance an effective partnership through your ecosystem.\nRequirements: Your Team should be comprised of 3 individuals. EPPs must bring a district or community partner (all teams entities will fill out one application as a team).\n\nEducator Preparation Providers (e.g., faculty member or related personnel)\nEPP Participants must bring a school or community partner\n\nDue Date: Monday, August 21st, 2023\n
